Higashi won the 2014 and 2016 “Nighttime Factory / Fine Art Festival” photo contest; the 2015 “47 Photos of Japan” contest for his photo of Kumamoto; the 2015 Oguni Photo Contest Grand Prix; the 2017 Tokyo Camera Club Photo Contest Instagram Category and the 10th Moji Port Sunset Twilight Photo Contest Grand Prix.

Kurosaki Gion Yamakasa is an annual four-day event held from Friday through Monday during the 3rd to 4th week of July. Designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture, the festival with 400 years of history is dedicated to Okadagu Shrine, Ichinomiya Shrine, and Kasuga Shrine. During the festival, wheeled floats called Kazariyama rush around the town with the sound of trumpet shells. They are also called Kenka Yamakasa, or fighting floats, for their intense movement. The valiant sight of the floats in action is breathtakingly dynamic and exciting.

Kawachi Wisteria Garden

Kawachi Wisteria Garden was voted the 10th most beautiful place in the world in 2012, and CNN rated it the 31st most beautiful place in Japan in 2015. The best time to visit this place is from the end of April to early May, when approximately 1 million wisteria, in over 20 species, bloom. Two wisteria flower tunnels of 80 meters and 110 meters in length and a large wisteria trellis attract viewers, who can enjoy a variety of beautiful wisteria flowers. In mid-November, 700 trees change colors. This place is famous for its autumn leaves, which can be enjoyed for a long time each year.

Hiraodai

Hiraodai is counted among Japan's three greatest karsts and is designated as a natural monument, a quasi-national park, and a prefectural natural park. The appearance of limestone protrusions in a row, called pinnacle, looks like a flock of sheep playing in the meadow; you can also enjoy unusual rock structures such as the lion rock and the kiss rock. There are also many limestone caves underground, including the officially designated natural monument Senbutsu Cave, which is 900 meters deep, and other limestone caves such as Ojiika and Mejiro.

Kokura Castle

Kokura Castle is a famous castle built in 1602 by Hosokawa Tadaoki. In the spring, around three hundred Someiyoshino cherry trees bloom beautifully here and in the surrounding area, and the illuminated night view of cherry blossoms with Kokura Castle is so exquisite that it takes your breath away. Kokura Castle Garden, recreated at the historical remains of the daimyo's residence, is separated into the following four zones: garden, study, experience, and exhibit. Here, you can enjoy the seasonal scenery of the landscape. In the experience zone, you can enjoy green tea and Japanese desserts with a desk and chair.

The Observatory Restaurant is a 2-minute walk from JR Mojiko Station on the 7th floor of the building in front of the station. You can enjoy both the best location overlooking the Kanmon Straits and Mojiko Station and the exquisite Teppanyaki Curry Doria, which won the first prize at the Mojiko Fried Curry Fair. It also has a vegetable sommelier, and you can enjoy alcohol.

Fukuoka Tower is 234 meters tall and is the tallest seaside tower in Japan. The 360-degree panoramic night view of Fukuoka's cityscape and Hakata Bay is exceptional from the observation deck on the highest floor, which is 123 meters above the ground. You can also enjoy its night view, which was selected as one of the "100 greatest night views."
